Why are only MDS OMFS eligible for Zygoma hands - on patient
Zygomatic implant placement is a highly complex surgical procedure that involves advanced anatomical knowledge and surgical skills, particularly related to the maxillofacial region. MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) specialists are specifically trained in managing intricate facial anatomy, including the zygomatic bone, sinus, and surrounding structures. For patient safety and to comply with medical and dental regulations, hands-on patient training in such advanced procedures is restricted to those with the requisite surgical qualifications and experience—typically MDS OMFS professionals.
